The Man Behind the Ultimate Dream of Gun Education
This article in U.S. News briefly mentions Dr. Ignatius Piazza as a former California chiropractor turned gun enthusiast. No explanation is given for how Dr. Piazza went from being a caregiver and practicing physician to being the founder and director of a $25 million firearms training project. How is it, then, that Front Sight Firearms Training Institute, the planet's first firearms training luxury community came to be conceived?
Dr. Ignatius Piazza was in his living room with his wife one evening in 1988 when a group of miscreants and anti-socials drove through his neighborhood and did their best to damage or destroy the fruits of a hard-working life with what until then Dr. Piazza had considered an occasional pastime and practically a toy for him: firearms. While Dr. Piazza had been a gun enthusiast for years, and had been no stranger to firing ranges over the course of his experience in firearms, he never learned to defend himself or use a firearm proactively, which is training he needed most when this particular band of anti-socials drove through his neighborhood.
Realizing this, Dr. Piazza started himself on a training regimen which would bring him under the tutelage of some of that time's finest firearms training instructors. Piazza got himself not only handgun training, but also shotgun training, rifle training and self defense training. After years of work, he became an certified master in all these fields. However, through the years, he had heard of a test that would push any expert to the utmost limit of his ability. The Four Weapons Combat Master is a test that very few people know of or even consider attempting. It took months of intensive, daily training to reach a point where he could begin to take the test, and even then, he was not able to secure the test. After several attempts, however, in August of 1993, Dr. Ignatius Piazza became the second man in the world to secure the Four Weapons Combat Master title – twelve years after the title's publication!
Dr. Piazza took all the training and experience he had receiving training and applied it to training others. He took this compilation and created the programs, courses and format of Front Sight Firearms Training Institute. This conglomeration of information makes Front Sight the finest firearms training school in the world.
